A. Fees for the examination of an application for registration of a vessel in the Register of Cyprus Ships. CYP15,00

B. (1) For ships other than passenger ships:

(i) For each ton gross upto 5000 tons :10 cents
(ii) For each ton gross over 5000 tons up to 10000 tons: 8 cents
(iii) For each ton gross over 10000 tons: 4 cents
(iv) Minimum fee:C£125.-
(v) Maximum fee:C£3000.-

(2) For passenger ships:

(i) for each ton gross: 15 cent
(ii)Maximum fee: C£250,00

C. Fee for issue of Radio Station

License£: C£10,00

Annual fees for the operation of the station and renewal of the Radio License:C£10,00

D. Annual Tonnage Tax: calculated on the basis of the year of built of the vessel, as well as of her gross tonnage.

(i) Ships of gross register tonnage up to 1600 gross tons, are charged a fixed amount of C£100,00 and, additionally, 26 cents for each gross ton.
(ii) For each additional gross ton, between 1601 grt to 10000 grt: 16 cents
(iii) For each additional gross ton, between 10001 grt to 50000 grt: 6 cents
(iv) For each additional gross ton, over 50000 grt: 4 cents

The resulting figure from the above calculation must then be multiplied by the corresponding rate based on the age of the vessel as shown below:-

11 - 20 years       1,00
Over 20 years      1,30

For passenger ships the amount of tonnage tax is twice the amount payable by other vessels according to the above calculation.

The age of the ship is determined by deducting the year of build, as shown on the Certificate of Registry of the ship from the year of assessment of the tonnage tax.
